Meet the team: Introducing Lyne, our Head of Charity Partnerships

The GIVE.asia team is made up of a group of talented individuals with varied backgrounds across multiple industries. Often, they work at GIVE.asia in a voluntary capacity and maintain full-time jobs at the same time. In our Meet the Team series, we will introduce members of our team and today we talk to Lyne. Here she tells us more about who she is, what she does, and why.

Thank you for talking to us today Lyne. First things first, can you tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do at GIVE.asia?

I am a part of the charities team and I work to find, verify, and onboard charities across the APAC region. I compare my role to that of an account manager, and I ensure that charities understand the GIVE.asia platform and how they can use it to get the best results.

What does your day look like at GIVE.asia?

Meetings, campaign launches, coaching charities, onboarding charities, joy, and happiness. Seeing the success of campaigns that I support through launch fills me with pride!

Why do you work at GIVE.asia?

Growing up, giving was a part of my every day and this has continued into my adult life. Being a part of the GIVE.asia team makes me feel like I am giving every day. I love the work that we do and the team that I work with. We learn together, share our skills, and grow, so that we can help those in need. I love the culture – we all have the same goal.

Tell us a fun fact about you.

I am a polyglot and can speak French, English, Vietnamese, and beginner-level Spanish. It only takes me three days to pick up a new language – my brain is just wired that way I guess!

What’s the cause that resonates with you most?

It must be anything to do with women, children, and the elderly. I just love women supporting women and feel like this is something that is top of the agenda now, and must continue to be.

How do you wind down after a busy day at work?

I love sketching, photography, and I love playing the guitar and singing. I often do live performances on Facebook! Basically, I am a very creative person and love the arts.

Who inspires you the most?

My grandmother for sure. She is the kind of woman who never complained, worked so hard, and took care of our whole family. She is the reason I am who I am today.

What’s your favourite book?

I love reading and listening to anything to do with self-help – from books, to podcasts, to blogs. I also believe that love is so important and must be a part of everyone’s life. I guess that’s what has made me into a giver because, in order to give, you have to care first.
